The Company Status: I’m Dormant but Companies House say I’m Active
Once a company has been formed the Companies House webcheck will give the company an “Active” status.
This is nothing to do with the company’s trading status. It is simply to do with the company’s current “life” status. “Active” means that the company is formed – whether it is trading or not is not taken into account.
Why do we mention this?
This is because we receive many calls from concerned customers who explain that whilst their company is dormant, Companies House define it as “Active”. This is nothing to be concerned about, a company can be “Active” and dormant at the same time.
