Limited Company Name- Restricted Word: International
Last Updated: 20/08/2014
When choosing a name for your limited company it’s important you are aware of the Companies House “Restricted Words” list. In order to form a company with any of these words, certain criteria must be met; the criteria differ depending on the word.
This post sets out the criteria required for the word International
If using International at the start of the company name you need to show at incorporation that most of the company’s business activity will take place overseas.
If being used at the end of the name you need to show that the company will be operating in two or more countries (other than the UK). If such conditions can’t be met at incorporation you should state you that you intend do so within 3 months.
If you are forming your company with us, our system recognises the restricted word and will prompt you to fill out a template relevant to your chosen restricted word. You can then upload the template to your company admin system. This template will then be shown to Companies House upon submission.
